Above the showroom. Beyond the obvious.
Some bars play music. This one is built around it. Perched on the mezzanine, overlooking the showroom below, Plonkers: The Listening Bar is a space for people who know the difference between hearing something and actually listening to it.
The room sits apart from the Parlour, with views down to the floor and a sound system that makes the rest of the world feel considerably less interesting.
There is also a car. We are not going to over-explain that.

Listening Bar

The Space
Separate from the Parlour, quieter in character, with a vantage point that makes the room feel both removed from and connected to everything happening beneath it.
The space accommodates intimate gatherings and private hire with equal ease, whether that is a late evening with friends, a curated listening session, or a corporate event that people will actually remember. There is a car. It belongs here.

The Sound
he room is powered by a bespoke system by Friendly Pressure: the London-based loudspeaker design studio founded by Shivas Howard-Brown.
Working from his East London studio, Howard-Brown hand-builds modular horn loudspeakers rooted in vintage Tannoy, JBL and Altec lineage, each system made entirely to order and tuned to the room it lives in. Friendly Pressure systems have been commissioned by Spotify for their London Listening Lounge and by Stone Island for Milan Design Week. The result at Plonkers is a system that does not ask for your attention, it simply has it.
